- lol, listen to his ballads like "always with me always with u", or "starry night" before posting shit.... also all this shredding is improvised (no preparation, both are playin TOTALLY extempore), try improvising and lets see how much music U can create.....
- what the f??? Go listen to their compositions for their musicality, both are great composers too .... duels are basically for abilities......so dont look for music here, this is a LOT of feel in the shred....
- R u talkin about this vid or generally? Most people like it generally.....
- I'm not a fan of when he leaves the wah pedal in an up position, but hey, he did it for a reason.
- Stop comparing these great guitarists, if you have negative remarks about these two? perhaps you should look in the mirrow because you are retarded. These guys rock! And are two of the best!
- Hi indoninja. I've got nothing against effects. One listen to Hendrix playing Wah Wah or using delay would convince anyone that technology can enhance music. I really don't like Satriani's guitar sound though. Over-produced if you ask me, which I'm fairly sure no one will.
- dude have you even heard gone .. tell me its not the best emotional guitar riff played in the last 10 years andy timmons is awesome as most session guitarists are.. underrated
- if it was just you and him in a room and he was playing im sure you would change your mind
- To elaborate, by "traditionally," I meant actually playing, you know, notes and chords. But satch uses effects and all that, so half is "traditional" playing, but the rest is his ability to mix and match different effects.
- Or Judas Priest maybe like you've got in your favourites. Sorry I'll follow the example of real hetero men like Rob Halford.
No more ballet for me. Must be less gay in future. I can only apologise.
- Amazing! These guys rule!
- Asshole
- That's the gayest thing I've ever heard. Go watch your ballet videos
- Thats a pretty good point.
- What's all this about tradition? I never mentioned tradition. I'm confused.
Basically I listen to these guys and think 'Hmm, impressive technique but you don't really communicate emotionally do you'.
It depends what you want from music. To me this is the difference between acrobatics and ballet. The acrobat is impressive but artistically inferior to the ballerina.
- "Traditionally?" No, man. I'm saying that he's all flash. He can run scales like anyone else who plays...well, hair metal, but there's no emotion. It's so robotic. He knows what he's doing, but what he's doing disgusts me.
- You said that Joe Satriani has no musicianship, so I ask you if you if this is true, is he not making music because he doesn't play the guitar traditionally?
- I don't agree with the whole "music is numbers' thing.
I love blues and jazz as much as the next person but I LOVE Joe because he has good feel, good tone, and he knows what to play at the right time.
Now some moron shredder sitting in his basement and just playing scales really fast and stuff...It doesnt sound like music...just sounds like the musical equivilant of somebody vomitting.
- Wrong. Music isn't maths, or emotion. It's art.
It's how you express yourself and that Satriani does well.
Please stop flaming all the great guitarists when they're pretty much all skilled the same and just play different styles.
- sorry, my bad.
- Play some REAL blues, you robots!
Stevie Ray Vaughn would kick both your white-bread asses.
These soulless bastards are ruining rock. Don't think in scales! Are you frickin' Motzart. MUSIC ISN'T MATH. It'S EMOTION. SATRIANI HAS NONE.
- No, it's not.
The first Timmons signature model, the AT100, was essentially an RG, but with some changes made. Look it up.
- I wonder where the last place you played was... with a response like that, I guess all we have to do is wait for your amazing video response to realize exactly how great your delusions of grandeur have become! My guess is you'll never wander outside the pentatonic scale, and your video will be fodder for us all. I can't wait!
- Hey Dildorknipple, I'm a better guitarist than both of these flashy clowns. I admire many guitarists but Peter Green, Jimi Hendrix, Bo Diddley, Mike Bloomfield, John Lennon, Chuck Berry, Paul Kossoff, and Johnny Marr immediately spring to mind as really special. Each one unique in his way unlike these two performing monkeys.
- no, it's roadstar. The AT models don't have a pickguard.
