  • He was trying to get away from his 'guitar hero' image at the time. When he toured around that time, he'd only sing and play acoustic guitar, leaving the soloing and riffing to someone else.

  • This was one of those "let's throw this in the video and see if it sticks" kind of projects. I remember seeing this video a few times on MTV, and I thought the song was pretty cool. I really never paid attention to the video itself until now. Really innovative for its time. Boy...don't you love 80's music? It was a lot more fun to listen to than today's stuff. 80's videos were pretty neat too...music videos were a new concept, so anything went. LONG LIVE THE 80'S!!!!!
  • Okay.. I really like this song, and Pete is a genius. But.. am I the only one who thinks those robots are really fucking scary? Especially the one in the cupboard and the three singing waiters, or whatever they are. Nightmares.
  • This also is my favorite Townshend song; but this video is no less "out there" than Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey" video. Trivia factoid: the monkey that is shown in the video is the same monkey that was in "Raiders of The Lost Ark".
