More links/info here. This is an introduction to my book, PLAY SKILLFULLY, a book which provides guitarists with one of the most thorough maps of the fret board yet to be printed. Obviously, the book is the lesson - not the YouTube video. A systematic approach which provides 12 fingerings of the major, harmonic minor, and melodic minor scales, as well as the modes and arpeggios nested within them. You can buy it here... http://stores.lulu.com/Guitar_Player See previews of sample pages at.... http://www.lulu.com/browse/preview.php?fCID=709861 In the video, I'm playing a Gibson Custom Shop Wes Montgomery L-5 through a 1980s Roland JC-55 amp. The ultimate scale/arpeggio lesson User Reviews

  • get it of the internet
  • Good Stuff man!! hey, how can I buy your book in Argentina??
  • TAB? Yes - and block diagrams too (and standard notation). If you go to the "More Info" in the upper right of this page there is a link there that shows a few preview pages of the book so you can see how the material is presented.
  • Sounds cool, I can't read music. Tab format, maybe?
  • funny how my dad knows this guy he used to go to our church :) sick playing sir
  • I got to say thanks for that one! you are the first guy, that i have seen at youtube, that can realy help me out form where I'm standing right now. My guitarskills are not as good as I want them to be.. I have not learned to much theori, and I see now, that I should have focused more on that part. I want to improve my musical way of thinkin, and it looks to me like this is an altrnative way for me! thanks again! sorry for my bad english.. I'm just a norwegian guy, try'n my best =D
  • i gotta get this book!
  • it sounds a good system.......for thought
  • It is the same basic principle. I learned this approach from Jack Petersen who preceeded Bill Leavitt @ Berklee as head of the guitar program. I'm unsure which - if either - of them came up with the approach. My book differs from Levitt's in that mine focuses primarily on the fingering patterns & theory (not sight reading) - and presents the material in standard notation, tab, and block diagrams where Levitt's material is primarily in standard notation.
  • That fretboard looks yum.. mmm ebony
  • this sounds like the berklee/bill leavitt guitar method, all 12 scales in each/any position, 1st and 4th fingers extended... is there something different about your approach?
  • I order your book but did not have the time. But now I'm ready to start, now have the time. Can wait to start. Thank you, there is a lot information out there but this book is gold.
