Easy Jazzy Guitar Lesson with chord progression User Reviews

  • different voicing, basically same notes just in different positions on the fretboard
  • next level guitar has gone a long way! good job!
  • 022033 is EBEGDG X79787 is XEBDGB same notes just slightly different order
  • Great video. But, I don't think it's good to teach people to hit all the strings when you only need to hit five strings (like you did with D maj. 7). I think it encourages bad technique. Nice work, though!
  • a cord can be play different ways in different positions of the fretboard its the same cord just i different octave
  • Also the chords to the main verse section to Chick Corea's "Spain".
  • chords on guitar can have many different shapes can be played in different ways and will keep their chord name =)
  • their both em7 once open the others barre
  • there are several ways to make 1 chord.. for example you can play all the basic chords as bar chords waaay up the neck but get the same sound
  • Your not missing anything bro lol. It's just a different position. X79987 = Em X79787 = Em7 022000 = Em 02203X = Em7 Note that the note that was changed in the first position (9 to 7th fret) is the same as adding the 3rd. They are both the 7th note in the E minor scale, that is why it makes it a 7th chord. To understand it a little more, play the 7th Fret on the 3rd string, and then the 3rd fret on the 2nd string. Same note isn't it? :) Hope you get it.
  • There are many variations to every chord. Just like some basic variations of e minor are 022000, X79987, XX2453, XX14121212, etc... BOTH those chords you mentioned are versions of Em7.
  • great video im using this for my jazz audition tomorrow
  • HEY WAIT A minute. On you site you say an eminor 7th is 022033. NOT X79787. What did I miss here???
  • great lesson!! there are so many solos that can be played on that progression

  • i see.. thanks a lot,i'll work on my chords and i got a brand new guitare i'm so happy. waiting for the dvd! all "good people" thank you
  • Perhaps you are lookingat a different fingering for a certain chord. A major 7th has a 1,3,5,7 and a 7th chord which is a dominant chord has a 1,3,5,b7 in it. rock on! DT
  • Why when i look for "A7" "Dmaj7" in a dicTionary, i don't find the same chord as yours? except for "Bm".. PLZ ANSWER thx though for all lessons
